.NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to acquire john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can obtain your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to switch the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no specific rules on who can obtain a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
