A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain. For example, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

Creating a catch-all mailbox will be extremely easy if you’ve got a Linux web hosting service with us. You can enable the feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer your web hosting account. You will find all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and on the right side of each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously reveal to you if a particular mailbox receives all the messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option at any moment. If there’s active email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will get a warning notice from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled with ease if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domain names hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a tiny sign handily situated right next to each one. With just a single mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this option through the context menu that will come into sight. In case any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
